Description
24 Barns Street is a pair of mirrored houses built in the earlier 19th century. They are two stories high and consist of two bays, forming part of a terrace. The houses are constructed from coursed, squared sandstone and feature a base course, eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoin on the right side only. The openings have painted margins.
On the south entrance elevation, there are two timber doors at the center, each with letterbox fanlights above. Flanking the doors are single windows at the ground level, with regular fenestration on the first floor.
The windows are plate glass timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes stone skews, rooflights, coped stacks, and both polygonal and circular chimney cans.
The interiors were not seen during the inspection in 1998.
