59 Midton Road, Ayr

61 Midton Road is a pair of semi-detached houses built in the later 19th century, featuring two stories and three bays with classical detailing. The houses are constructed of ashlar stone, with a channelled design at the ground floor. Architectural elements include a base course, a dividing band course, a cill course at the first floor, an eaves course, and a mutulated cornice. The window openings have aprons.

On the southeast (entrance) elevation, the entrances are located in the penultimate bays on the outer right and left. Each entrance has a segmental pediment and a consoled cornice above the doorpieces, which are fitted with timber doors and letterbox fanlights. Above the entrances, there are single windows aligned at the first floor. The ground floor features tripartite windows, while the inner bays at the first floor have bipartite windows, and the outer bays have canted windows.

The northeast, southeast, and southwest elevations were not visible in 1999. The windows are made of plate glass and 4-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes gablehead and ridge stacks, as well as polygonal cans. The houses also have cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interiors were not seen in 1999. The property includes gatepiers at the entrances to both houses, single timber gates, and a coped boundary wall that encloses the site.
