Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, basement and attic, pair of houses forming part of terrace. Sandstone rubble to right (painted at basement); painted render to left. Painted ground floor band course; cornice; blocking course. Painted margins to window openings.

NE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central stepped platt oversailing basement to 2 entrances; lower plain margined entrance to left; columned, corniced, block-pedimented doorpiece to right; timber doors and painted letterbox fanlights to both; 2 single windows aligned above at 1st floor. Single windows to outer bays at ground and 1st floors. Timber central door; flanking single windows to basement to No 16. Timber door; single window to right to basement to No 18. 3 single dormers at attic; segmentally arched to outer left and right.

Textured glass to windows at basement to No 16; modern enlarged window at ground; 6-pane to upper sashes of timber sash and case windows at 1st floor; shop window at basement to No 18; plate glass to ground and 1st floor; 16-pane to outer dormers at attic; modern glazing to central dormer. Grey slate roof; coped brick stacks (low central wallhead stack); circular cans.
