15-17 Citadel Place, Ayr

15-17 Citadel Place is a later 19th century, two-storey, three-bay detached house located in the center of Citadel Place. The building features painted ashlar with harl on the sides, a base course, an eaves course, a cornice, raised quoins, and painted margins around the window openings.

On the north elevation, there is a central entrance with a cavetto-splayed doorpiece, a consoled cornice, a timber door, and a letterbox fanlight. Above the entrance, there is a single window aligned with the first floor, and the flanking bays have regular fenestration.

To the outer right, at No 17, there are railed steps leading to a recessed block-pedimented entrance with a timber door. The east side elevation is a blank gable.

The windows are timber sash and case with 10-pane lying pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, coped gablehead stacks, and both circular and polygonal chimney cans.

The interior was not seen in 1998. Additionally, there are gates and railings, including a two-leaf iron gate to the outer left that is mutual with Nos 5 and 7, iron gates leading to the entrance of No 17 and to the rear, and railings to the right of the steps to No 17.
