Description

The water pump at Bowden, dated 1861, features an octagonal enclosure around the village well. It is constructed of squared and snecked rubble, accented with contrasting red sandstone ashlar dressings. The roof is polygonal, topped with a ball finial and covered with slate, while the surrounding area is cobbled. A relief-carved stone displays the words 'ERECTED 1861' above a metal rod. The structure includes two boarded timber doors, one large and one small, as well as two stone troughs, one semicircular and one rectangular.
