Description
The village pump with shelter, dating from the late 19th century, features sandstone columns and steep plain tiled roofs. It has a square plan and is supported by four round, ashlar columns that have moulded plinths and cushion caps. The structure includes a pitched gabled roof with arched principal rafters, small king-posts, and chamfered arched struts at each gable. The curved bargeboards are decorated with punched trefoil and quatrefoil motifs. Under the canopy, the pump hoist is made of cast iron and consists of two standing triangular brackets that support a winding handle and a large four-spoked wheel.
