Description
Frogetts is a house located on Froggetts Lane in Abinger, dating from the early 17th century with 20th-century extensions. The house features a timber frame that is exposed on the right-hand return front, with colourwashed render infill. The ground floor front has a brick plinth with red and blue brick infill, and tile hanging above. The left side is clad in red and blue brick, while the right side has colourwashed brick with a weatherboard gable. The roofs are plain tiled, and the building has a compact T-shaped plan with a gable on the right that is positioned at right angles to the lane. There is a massive multiple stack with corbelled tops to the left of the gable. The house is two storeys high with attics in the right gable, featuring one window on the first floor and one below. On the left side, there is one 3-light window on each floor. A half-glazed door is located under a blue header arch to the left of the gable, leading to a lobby entry. The left-hand return front has one first-floor window to the right and casement doors on the ground floor in a brick break. There is a ribbed flat-roofed range to the left with two windows. The right-hand return front has the frame exposed, with one first-floor window and two ground-floor windows. A half-glazed door is set back in a two-storey pentice. There is a single-storey weatherboarded and brick extension to the right, which is not of special interest.
