Description

The well head and pump located on the Village Green is a late 19th-century structure. It features a square concrete platform supported by four pedestalled posts, which brace a Horsham slab roof. The roof is gabled and cross-shaped, topped with a central crucifix finial and pendant finials at each gable apex. Each gable has cusped bargeboards adorned with pierced quatrefoil and trefoil decorations. The roof structure includes king struts with chamfered braces. The cast iron pump is octagonal in shape and has tracery panels on its shaft along with a scrolled pump handle. A stone bowl is positioned on the west face of the structure. Together, the pump and well head serve as a central feature of the Village Green.
