Description
The barn at Leigh Place dates from the 18th century, possibly incorporating an earlier structure. It was extended in the 19th century at both the front and rear and is now partly used as a garage. The barn features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with weatherboard cladding and a hipped plain tiled roof. The left-hand front extension has a taller brick plinth and brick cladding on the rear wing. The original barn consists of three framed bays with central opposed wagon entrances, one of which is now partly blocked. There are fixed windows to the right and double doors at the end of the left-hand extension, along with a through-eaves loft door located under the hip roof on the return wall of the front extension. This building is included in the listing for its group value.
