18 Biggiesknowe, Peebles

18 Biggiesknowe in Peebles is a 2-storey and attic, 3-bay house built in 1796, situated on sloping ground that descends to the south. The house is harled and entered from the street at the first floor.

The north elevation is mostly blank and located below street level. In the center, there is a flagstone platform bridge that leads to a projecting gabled entrance bay featuring droved ashlar quoin strips and margins, with a panelled door. Below this, at ground level, there is a door in the center and a small window to the left.

The west elevation has a gable with a window to the right at the first floor. The south elevation, facing the river, displays regular fenestration, a glazed door at the center, and a pair of segmental-headed box dormers that are partially set into the roof.

The house features timber sash and case 12-pane windows, grey slate roofing, and rendered apex stacks.

Additionally, there is a boundary and retaining rubble wall along the street, topped with saddleback ashlar coping. To the right, steps lead down to a lower level, accompanied by arrowhead cast-iron railings.
