Description
Mill Cottage, dated 1837, is likely a reworking of an earlier cottage. It is a single-storey, three-bay gabled cottage featuring a pair of box dormers on the south side and a small gable window on the west side. There are single-storey additions, including a lean-to on the east and a cat-slide roof with a back door on the south.
The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and chamfered arrises. It has a central door with a letterbox fanlight and flanking windows that have projecting cills, all positioned under the eaves. A datestone from 1837 is located to the upper right of the door. The cottage features timber 8-pane sash and case windows, and brick end stacks with a string course, one of which has a modern metal can.
