Description

Early 19th century, further storey added sympathetically later. Symmetrical 3-storey 3-bay coursed and snecked cream sandstone house on corner site falling away to N; band course at ground. Windows to all bays. NW (CASTLEGATE) ELEVATION: panelled door with letterbox fanlight at centre in pilastered and corniced doorcase; flanking windows with blank recessed aprons; recessed single storey wall to S with board door to rear. NE (ABBEY CLOSE) ELEVATION: 3-storey 2-bay; 3rd storey blank. Single storey 2-bay link to projecting piend-roofed garage in Abbey Close; garage with double doors at ground.

REAR ELEVATION: irregular with stair windows at centre, canted window to left.

12-pane timber sash and case windows (4-pane to front at 1st floor). Piended roof, grey slates; coped ashlar wallhead stacks (1 rebuilt).
