Description

James Pearson Alison, 1903. Gabled 2-storey 3-bay Tudor hall. Red bull-faced squared and snecked sandstone with red ashlar dressings and cream ashlar bands at lintels and cills, and to the gable. Chamfered reveals. At ground, pair of corniced and architraved doors in outer bays with moulded architraves and panels above bearing legend IN THE LORD IS ALL MY TRUST ANNO DOMINI 1903. Original deep-set doorways; door to left, with 9-pane glazed upper panel; to right, 2-leaf with panels. 4-light stone mullioned window between. At 1st floor, 3-light mullioned central window, with single flanking windows. Gable at centre of elevation, ashlar coped skews with kneelers and wallhead; square plaque at centre bearing Masonic insignia.

Irregular rendered rear elevation with canted bay and single storey flat-roofed additon.

Leaded windows, some casements. Grey slates. Cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater heads frame facade.
