Description
The building at 18-20 Market Square in Melrose is a mid-19th century library and flat. It is two stories tall with an attic and features three bays. The structure is made of coursed squared rubble with droved ashlar dressings. On the right side, there is a three-bay shop at ground level that has had its windows enlarged. The building has a moulded cornice and a blocking course at the top of the wall. It has straight skews, a rectangular end stack, and two piended dormers in the attic, all topped with a slated roof.
