Description
4-7 Burn Wynd in Jedburgh is a later 18th century building that incorporates earlier elements. It is a three-storey, six-bay tenement featuring a shop and a pend at the ground level. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins and cills, and there are windows in all bays. The pend, located in the outer left bay, has a segmental head with a keystone, flanked by two windows on the right. The three right bays include a corniced three-bay shopfront with vertically divided plate glass on the right and a glazed panelled door on the left, showcasing chamfered arrises.
The rear elevation is made of irregular rubble and includes a single-storey piend-roofed wing on the left, which provides access to flats that continue as 8 Burn Wynd and Cornelious Close. The building features four-pane timber sash and case windows, grey slate roofing, Velux rooflights, and a single dormer on the rear right. There is a concrete skew to the south and crowsteps to the north, along with a rendered stack.
