8 Market Place, Jedburgh

8 Market Place in Jedburgh features 18th century facades that cover an older core and was renovated in the 1970s. It consists of a pair of two-storey, three-bay houses with shops on the ground floor. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins and cills, and crowstepped gables.

Number 7 has two square plate glass shop windows on the left and a glazed panelled door on the right. Number 8 features a large rectangular 12-pane shop window to the left and a two-leaf panelled door to the right.

The irregular projecting rear elevation is also harled and includes a three-storey gabled stair tower on the right, with a door on the left providing access to flats.

Both houses have 12-pane timber sash and case windows at Number 7 and the rear, while Number 8 has 4-pane windows. The roofs are covered with grey slates and include Velux rooflights, with a dormer at the rear of Number 8. Harled stacks are present as well.
