Description
9 Market Place in Jedburgh features an 18th century facade that incorporates earlier elements and has undergone later rebuilding. This three-storey, three-bay harled tenement includes a shop on the ground floor, with the bays arranged irregularly. The building has painted ashlar margins and cills. The shop is located in the center of the ground floor, featuring a two-leaf panelled door to the left and a large rectangular bowed display window with 30 panes set in a rectangular frame to the right.
The return elevation to the north has a crow-stepped gable, with a modern display oriel at ground level and small single stepped windows on the upper floors. The rear elevation includes a single window and a modern single-storey flat-roofed link to flats. The building has four-pane timber sash and case windows and is topped with grey slates.
