Description
2 Sandbed in Hawick is an early 19th-century, three-storey, three-bay tenement that includes a shop on the ground floor and is part of a terrace. The building is constructed from coursed whinstone, featuring polished red sandstone ashlar dressings and raised long and short quoins. The shopfront is canted and glazed, with a central glazed timber door leading into a lobby, and is topped with a dentilled, bracketed, break-front cornice.
The shopfront has fixed plate glass with vertical glazing bars, while the other windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. To the right, there is a shared ashlar-coped rendered gablehead stack with circular clay cans. The roof is covered in grey slate and has a metal ridge, with cast-iron rainwater goods.
