St John's House, 12-16 Albert Road, Eyemouth

St John's House, located at 12-16 Albert Road in Eyemouth, is an earlier 19th-century large classical villa that was subdivided around 1900. The building is two stories high with a basement. The front facing Albert Road features three bays, with the center bay being advanced. The ground floor has been altered due to subdivision, now displaying a door in the right-hand bay and two doors flanking a window where there was previously a door in the center bay.

On the east front, there are also three bays with the center bay advanced, featuring a projecting segmental bow. The windows in the bow have side lights, and the principal floor window is supported by block corbels below the cill, with a cornice above that has a blocking course carried on brackets at the ends. The brackets at the divides have been recently removed. The exterior is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, with ashlar cills and band courses. The roof has been renewed with slate and tiled ridges, and there are a pair of rendered central stacks, with their upper parts rebuilt. Additionally, there is a small late 19th-century cantilevered timber extension on the south side at the ground floor, along with a more recent extension below at the basement level.
