Description
Chester House, located at 11 Church Street in Eyemouth, is a mid-18th century building that stands two stories tall and features five bays on its west front. The entrance is accessed by steps leading to a central door, which is framed by a lugged architrave and topped with a bracketed cornice. The façade includes a projecting window and angle margins, a moulded eaves course, straight skews, and a slated roof. The end stacks are rebuilt in brick, and remnants of former harling can be seen on the sides. Inside, the house boasts good contemporary panelling and a balustraded stair. The screen wall facing Church Street is constructed of rubble with coping and ashlar dressings.
