Description
South Lodge at Hangingshaw is a single-storey lodge built in the late 19th century with a rectangular plan. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar with painted, droved dressings. The main entrance features a deep-set door flanked by a window on the south side, while the north elevation has two windows. The main elevation includes a canted window with a piended roof. At the rear, there are lean-to and piended roof additions. The windows are fitted with plate glass and 4-pane glazing in sash and case style, although there is a modern window in the lean-to. The piended roof is covered with grey slates, lead flashings, and has brick stacks at the apex, along with over-hanging eaves.
