Description
South Lodge at Ormiston Hall is a single-storey gate lodge built in the mid-18th century. It features three bays that are grouped towards the centre, with a doorway flanked by small windows. There is also a small window on each side elevation. The lodge is constructed from large blocks of squared sandstone rubble that are deeply droved. At the rear, there is a modern addition, and the windows have been updated to modern styles. The roof is a grey slate piend with a central stack.
The lodge is complemented by two tall ashlar drumpiers, which were added later, along with ashlar-coped rubble retaining walls that are swept up at the sides.
