Description
The dovecot at Ormiston Hall dates back to the 18th century and is designed in a cylindrical tower form, measuring 10 feet in diameter and standing 24 feet high. It is constructed from roughly coursed sandstone ashlar and features a base course and a jettied parapet. There is a doorway on the south side, with two arrow slit flight holes positioned above it, and a bracketed shelf located below a row of 13 entrance holes. The interior was formerly lined with timber nesting boxes, but the dovecot is currently roofless.
