Description
27 and 28 Market Square in Coldstream feature a later 19th century refacing of an earlier building, likely from the late 18th century. The structure showcases a three-storey "French Renaissance" facade. The ground floor is made of ashlar stone and includes a painted wooden shopfront that is supported by consoles and pilasters. On the right side, there is an arched door set within a banded pilastered and segmentally pedimented doorpiece. The first floor is adorned with lugged segmental architraves and a cill course, along with a frieze band and cornice. Dormers with pilasters and pediments rise through the eaves, and the building has a slate roof with straight skews and end stacks.
