Description
The Red Lion is an early 19th century, two-storey public house located on Market Street in Coldstream. The building features ashlar stonework, which is painted on the ground floor, and has a raised pilaster strip on the left side. There is a base course, with doors positioned to the left and center, and a segmentally-headed pend to the right. To the right of the center, there are two 12-pane sash windows (one of which has bars), along with one enlarged modern window to the left. A band course runs above the ground floor, except over the pend, where there is a later 19th century bracketed cornice. A timber fascia is located above this. The first floor also has two 12-pane sash windows, and the building is topped with a slate roof, featuring skews at the left end.
