Description
Crossways House is a public house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is built of ashlar stone and features a slate hipped roof. The building has two storeys and three windows, all of which are flanked by 20th-century louvred shutters. On the ground floor, there is a sash window and a 16-pane sash window flanking half-glazed storm doors, all beneath a large and heavy hood supported by ornately moulded brackets. Above a blocking course, the first floor has sash windows to the left and a 16-pane sash window to the right, along with a cornice and a plain parapet that returns on the roadside (east) elevation. This elevation also has two storeys and two windows, with the first-floor right window being blank. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to extension below three sashes, with the central stair light being lower.
