Description
6 Maxwellheugh Terrace in Kelso is a pair of single-storey and attic cottages built in 1863, showcasing a Picturesque style. The cottages are constructed from polygonal random rubble and feature rustic rock-faced long and short angle quoins, along with cill and lintel courses. For cottages numbered 3 and 4, the entrance is located in a gabled porch on the right, with a gabled dormer above, and a tripartite window with a gable above to the left. The broad-eaved roof is slated and includes barge-boards and finials, along with a rock-faced rubble stack. There is a second entrance with a bracketed gabled porch on the south gable. Cottages numbered 5 and 6 have a reversed plan but are otherwise identical to the first pair.
