7 Slitrig Crescent, Hawick

7 Slitrig Crescent in Hawick is a gabled house built around 1815, originally part of a terrace. It is two stories high and has three bays. The exterior features smooth-rendered rubble with painted, tabbed, droved margins and polished red sandstone ashlar cills, while the rear is finished in pebbledash. The house includes a base course and an eaves course, with raised cills and long-and-short quoins on the left side of the front elevation.

Access to the house is via two stone steps leading to a central recessed door, which is topped by a multi-pane rectangular fanlight and cornice. The windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate, and it has cast-iron rainwater goods.

The property is also defined by boundary walls, which include a shoulder-height, ashlar-coped wall on the north side of the front garden and a high ashlar-coped rubble wall enclosing the north side of the rear courtyard, featuring red sandstone dressings around a wide segmental-arched opening.
