Description
Clifton Cottage is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical house located on High Street in Kirk Yetholm. The exterior features white harling with painted stone surrounds around the openings. The window surrounds and cills are raised, and the first-floor windows extend into gabled dormerheads that break the eaves.
On the northeast elevation, which is the entrance side, there is a centrally located doorway with a boarded door, flanked by single windows in the adjacent bays. The windows are sash and case style with four-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate and has brick mutual stacks, along with 19th century hoppers.
