Description
1-2 Castlegate in Jedburgh is an 18th-century tenement that was altered in the early 19th century. It is a three-storey building with two bays, featuring a harled exterior. The ground floor includes a shop with painted ashlar windows that have cills. The shopfront is corniced, with a vertically divided plate glass window on the right and a glazed door on the left. The rear elevation is also harled, with reconstituted stone margins and forestairs leading to a glazed door at the first floor.
The building has four-pane timber sash and case windows and velux rooflights. The roof is grey slated with flat concrete coping at the skews, and there are harled stacks.
