Description

Circa 1890. Cast-iron canopy 1900 2-storeys with single-

storey addition to west. Channelled ashlar. North front:

former pedestrian entrance (now bricked up) at right with

full height architraved arch with large cast-iron fanlight,

supported by banded piers, canopy in front on 4 colonnettes

with glass roof and brattishing. To left is door and

bipartite window, similar window, and 1 single sash above

with aprons. Cornice between floors. Entablature with

mutuled cornice and parapet. Piended platformed roof.

Rear detailed similarly but band course over ground floor,

3 window side elevations. Carriage entrance to east with

gatepiers that at right attached to gatehouse. Cast-iron

gates operated by hydraulic valve inside gatehouse.
