Watermill Hotel, Bladda Lane, Paisley

The Watermill Hotel, located on Bladda Lane in Paisley, was rebuilt in 1968 and is a former watermill that now serves as a hotel. It is a three-storey building with an attic and includes two-storey outbuildings. The main structure features squared rubble with ashlar margins and has a seven-bay layout, with a three-bay section set at an angle. A modern main door is positioned to the right of the long block, while earlier doors can be found to the left of the long block and a hoist door at the first floor of the three-bay block. The windows are lintelled and fitted with modern glazing. Gabled dormers extend through the eaves, and the building has a double-pitched roof with straight skews covering six bays on the left side of the long block, while the seventh bay is topped by pyramidal roofs from two former kilns. The three-bay block is harled on the gable and rear, with modern glazing at the back. To the right, there is a two-storey outbuilding constructed of squared rubble with ashlar margins at the front, droved ashlar at the end, and painted ground harling at the rear. The outbuilding features a variety of pend door and window openings, and all roofs are slated.
