Description
Seedhill Gatehouse, located at Anchor Mills in Paisley, was built in 1909 as the west gatehouse for the mill. This two-storey rectangular building features red brick with ashlar dressings and has a layout of three by four bays. It forms a gushet and is flanked by cast-iron gate piers, with gates that display Anchor escutcheons and railings. The ground floor windows are corniced, while the first-floor windows are arched with keystones and have a continuous hood mould. A pedimented clock is situated over the wallhead on the narrow main entrance elevation. The building also includes a cornice at the first floor and a main cornice, along with a broken pedimented panel at the frieze level on the courtyard elevation.
