Description
49 Moss Street in Paisley is an early 19th-century, two-storey, four-bay house that has undergone later alterations. The building features droved ashlar stonework with a painted base course. The left bay is framed by pilasters, while the three right bays are symmetrical and include an architraved and corniced doorpiece with a fanlight, flanked by tripartite sash windows. The basement also has tripartite openings. On the first floor, the tripartite windows flank a single sash window, with all glazing consisting of 12 and 8 panes. There was a former pend in the left bay, which includes a door and two windows, with a tripartite window above. The house has an eaves cornice and a blocking course, topped with a slate roof that features corniced stacks and dormers. The dormers include two piended bipartites flanking a single dormer, all with 12-pane glazing.
