Description

Bridgend Bridge is an 18th-century single semi-circular-arched bridge that spans the River Calder. It was widened in 1814 and features a low segmental arch to the east that crosses a mill lade. The bridge has a recessed ashlar arch-ring and coursed, tooled, and squared rubble abutments. It is topped with a corbelled, droved ashlar parapet, which is balustraded above between the central and terminal piers.
