Description

Ledgard Bridge, built between 1799 and 1800, is a road bridge over the River Calder in Mirfield. It is constructed of hammer dressed stone and features four semi-circular arches supported by triangular breakwaters. The entire bridge has a cambered design, with square corbels at the springing of each arch. On the south side, there is a stone parapet resting on a string course. The north side has been widened to accommodate a pavement, which includes a concrete deck.
