Description

The bridge over the River Calder is a structure dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century, with an inscription indicating it was "widened 1806." It is built from dressed stone and features a single span segmental arch supported by rusticated voussoirs. The bridge has a band and parapet with chamfered capping, and there are circular domed piers at both ends. The eastern side of the bridge is the earliest section, where the voussoirs are set back from the supporting wall. Underneath, the bridge reveals two bridges side by side, all beneath a single parapet.
