Description
Calderbank Bleachfield in Lochwinnoch consists of surviving blocks from the late 18th or early 19th century. The site features a close-spaced pair of two-storey blocks with basements, positioned on a slope, and a long, low third block to the west. This third block has timber walling, stone piers, and gables, and it may have originally served as a drying house.
Both paired blocks are gabled and, as of 1990, are in domestic use. They are constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings. The block closest to the north has two bays and is rendered, with its original multi-paned glazing removed. The block nearest to the south has three bays and a rear catslide roof. Modern roofing materials have been used on both blocks.
