Description
Calder Bridge, located over the River Calder in Lochwinnoch Village, dates from the earlier to mid 19th century. It features three segmental arches with triangular cutwaters. The structure is made of droved ashlar, complemented by ashlar buttresses, piers, and parapet coping, as well as bullfaced voussoirs. The central span has a raised parapet, while the outer arches have ramped parapets. The piers flanking the arches are topped with flat caps, and the abutments are splayed with large octagonal terminal piers.
