Church Hall, United Free Church, Church Street, Lochwinnoch

The United Free Church, built in 1792, features an octagonal plan with a three-stage square tower added in 1815. The church is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings, particularly on the northeast face of the tower. The tower includes a door with a round-headed fanlight, a band course, and a moulded string course at the impost level, along with a scrolled wrought-iron lamp bracket above. There is a louvered opening under a pointed arch with a hood-moulding on the second stage, which also has a continuous cill band. The third stage has chamfered angles and hood-moulded, pointed-headed blind openings with a cill band. Above, there is a corbelled and crenellated parapet, with pinnacles at the corners.

The body of the church had its windows altered in 1823, with blocked pointed-headed openings at ground level beneath pointed-headed gallery windows on the south and east faces, and a single tall pointed-headed window on each of the other faces. The church features an eaves band and a faceted slate roof. To the southwest, there is a low session house and hall from the later 19th century, which includes pointed windows.

Inside, the church was mostly re-fitted in the later 19th century. The gallery has a panelled front with a clock and is accessed by two flights of steps with decorative cast-iron balusters. The pulpit is also reached by two flights of steps. The churchyard is enclosed by a rubble wall, featuring round gatepiers topped with flat conical caps.
