Description

1826, Manner of John Baird I. 2-storey treatment. 5-bay

front rectangular church. Ashlar. Great Roman Doric pilasters

to each bay. Double leaf panelled doors to 3 advanced inner

bays. Rectangular windows, those to ground floor architraved.

Pediment to advanced centre, eaves cornice and blocking

course to outer bays and to sides. Side elevations of 5

bays with end bays advanced and pilastered windows treated

as at front. Piended slate roof with ventilator. Interior

relatively intact except pews removed. 1-bay vestibule

with stairs leading to gallery. Cast-iron stair rails.

Gallery to 3 sides with cast-iron colonettes. Tall pulpit

flanked by steps. Flanking windows have internal cornices

and brackets. Shallow saucer dome ceiling.
