Sauchie Cottage, 45 Burrell Street, Crieff

Sauchie Cottage, located at 45 Burrell Street in Crieff, is a single storey and attic cottage dating from the later to late 19th century. It features a three-bay design that completes a short, irregular terrace to the northeast. The building is constructed of squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and includes a base course. The ground floor openings are adorned with Ionic pilasters and cornices, and the edges are finished with stop-chamfered arrises.

The southeast elevation facing Burrell Street is symmetrical, with the central bay featuring a pilastered doorpiece that has floreate relief carving, along with a modern part-glazed timber door. The flanking bays contain windows, and above the central bay is a finialled stone-pedimented dormer window that breaks the eaves, accompanied by similar piended dormers on the outer bays.

The southwest elevation facing Mill Road is a blank wall, featuring a gablehead stack and bargeboarding supported by corbelled brackets. The cottage has top-opening modern timber windows and is roofed with graded grey slates. The coped ashlar stacks have polygonal cans, and the eaves overhang with plain bargeboarding.

Surrounding the property are semicircular-coped rubble boundary walls, along with low flat-coped rubble walls that incorporate inset hooped ironwork railings.
