Description

11 Galvelmore Street in Crieff is a terrace of five houses built in the later 19th century, featuring two storeys and an attic. The houses are constructed from squared and snecked rubble with tabbed ashlar margins and have a gabled centre bay with a segmental-headed cart pend. The central gable includes a keystoned round-headed window at the top.

On the principal elevations, the broad gable is flanked by a segmental arch to the right and a window to the left at ground level. The centre features a bipartite window and an additional window to the left above, along with the round-headed window in the gablehead. Nos. 7 and 9, located to the right of the centre, each have a central door with flanking windows at ground level and regular window arrangements on the first floor. No. 11, to the left of centre, has a part-glazed timber door with a plate glass fanlight to the right, a window to the left, two windows above, and a slate-hung canted tripartite dormer over the left bay. No. 15, which is symmetrical, has a central door and a single window above, with bipartite windows and dormers in the outer bays.

The rear elevations, accessed through the pend, show a variety of alterations, including a projecting gabled wing (formerly a stable) to the left of centre with two hayloft dormer openings. The windows throughout mostly feature 4- and 8-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case style, although No. 15 has modern glazing on the ground floor. The roofs are covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks.
