Knowehead, 23 Dundee Road, Perth

Knowehead is a large villa dated 1852, designed in the Jacobethan style. The building is asymmetrically composed and features two storeys and a basement on Dundee Road, while it rises to three storeys at the river side. There is a single storey and basement crenellated wing on the north side, which includes gabled end projections. The northern projection has a tripartite main floor window, while the southern projection features a finialled canted bay at the ground floor and basement, with a recessed centre that is two windows wide.

On the east side, there is an elaborately crowstepped entrance porch. The villa is constructed from rubble with margins and has slated roofs and crowstepped gables. There is an unfortunate modern timber addition on the south side, and the property is enclosed by rubble-built garden walls.
