Description
Tigh Na Geat is an early 19th century house, possibly incorporating earlier materials. It is a two-storey, three-bay traditional house with a rectangular plan and a rustic porch, finished in harled render.
The west elevation is symmetrical, featuring a gabled porch in the center bay at ground level supported by tree-trunk columns with boarded sides. It has a two-leaf panelled timber door and a five-part fanlight above. There are windows in the flanking bays and three evenly spaced windows on the first floor, which break the eaves into gabled dormer heads with pendant finials.
The south elevation is a blank gabled wall with a lower lean-to bay at the outer right. The north elevation is also a blank gabled wall. The east elevation has a later single-storey wing that projects from the first floor to higher ground at the rear.
The windows feature a four-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are harled stacks with cans. The eaves overhang with plain bargeboarding.
There are two rectangular-plan, slated, rubble ancillary buildings located to the east and north. The eastern building has a timber door and a small window, while the northern building features two broad doors.
