Description
Birchwood House, located on Torr Hill in Birnam, was built in 1858. This two-storey, asymmetrical mansion is harled and features rock-faced dressings. The south front has two gables and a bay window, along with a single-storey wing that also includes a bay window. There is a tower that transitions from a square base to an octagonal shape, topped with a spired slated roof. To the north, there is a long service wing that leads to a charming three-storey circular tower with a conical roof. The building has slated roofs and traceried bargeboards.
