The Cottage, Main Street, Longforgan

The Cottage on Main Street in Longforgan is a late 18th-century building that had its wallhead raised and an attic floor added in the early 19th century, with a further addition to the east. This single-storey and attic cottage has a rectangular plan and was likely originally three separate cottages. It features rubble masonry with droved and margined ashlar window surrounds and a slate roof. The north elevation has 12-pane sash and case windows, while uPVC windows are found elsewhere. The eaves are bracketted, and there are three rendered ridge stacks.

On the north elevation, there is a semi-glazed door located at the second bay from the left, accompanied by a gabled porch supported by rustic columns. To the left of the door is a window, and to the right, there are four windows and four rooflights. A lower L-plan addition is situated to the left, and there is a modern canted window along with a window in the attic at the right return gable.

The south elevation features various windows on the ground floor and five half-piended dormers. The interior has not been seen.
