Description
Canniemyre is a mid-19th century single-storey, four-bay farm cottage with an asymmetrical rectangular plan. It features lean-to additions on both long sides and is part of an L-plan complex that includes a slightly lower byre range. The building is constructed from squared and roughly coursed rubble.
On the south elevation, the main cottage has a central lean-to with two evenly spaced windows, a boarded door located in the right return, and additional windows in the outer bays to the left and right. There is an offset doorway to the byre range on the right side.
The east side elevation consists of two bays, with a slightly lower bay on the right. It has a wide doorway in the central bay and another doorway in the outer right bay.
The north internal elevation features a lean-to with a boarded door and a window to the left of the main cottage, along with further openings that are obscured to the right.
The cottage has timber-framed windows, small rooflights on both the cottage and the byres, and a graded stone slate roof with stone ridges, stone skews, and rubble corniced gablehead stacks on the east and west gables. It also has cast-iron rainwater goods. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1998.
