Description
North Ronaldsay, Sandback is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage with a long rectangular plan and an asymmetrical design. It features three bays and a two-bay lean-to projection on the north elevation, constructed from drystone random rubble.
On the north elevation, there is a window in each bay, with a centrally placed lean-to. The left bay also has a window. The east side elevation has a window that is offset to the right, with a gablehead stack above it.
The cottage has timber-framed windows and a traditional flagstone roof, which includes a stone ridge and corniced rubble gablehead and ridge stacks.
The interior was not seen during the inspection in 1998.
