7 South End, Stromness

7 South End in Stromness is a house built in the earlier to mid 19th century, with later alterations and additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan house featuring a symmetrical design with crowstepped gables and a flat-roofed garage addition at the rear. The exterior is harled, with an eaves course and concrete window cills.

On the east (principal) elevation, there is a modern timber door with a fanlight located in the central bay, with a window above it on the first floor. Each of the flanking bays also has a window. The north (side) elevation features a two-bay gable design, with a window on each floor in both bays and a gablehead stack above. The garage addition on the outer right has two-leaf boarded doors with a window beside them.

The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with a stone ridge, and harled coped gablehead stacks on the north and south sides. The rainwater goods are made of uPVC. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1997.
